Who I Am

Dr. Erika Hollow, Rural GP & Lifestyle Medicine Physician

I graduated from Otago Medical School in 1994 and have worked as a rural GP since 2003 (FRNZCGP 2014), becoming a certified Lifestyle Medicine physician (ASLM) in 2020. Despite being a GP trained in women's health, I was blindsided when perimenopause hit me - the sheer number of symptoms, the physical, mental, and emotional impacts, and how much it affected my work caught me completely off guard. That personal experience, combined with witnessing my patients struggle through the same isolated, medical-only approach to menopause, drove me to create Reclaim. This program addresses what's missing: the whole-of-life transition that menopause represents, bringing women together for peer support and evidence-based strategies - because research shows women who are well-supported through this transition experience fewer symptoms and emerge with greater wellbeing.
